Coronary heart disease - a little introductory information. Unfortunately, this is a very common pathology that has fatal complications.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a condition in which the blood supply to the heart is disrupted and the myocardium (heart muscle) receives less oxygen than it needs to work.

Coronary heart disease - causes of the disease

If you are used to thinking that coronary heart disease develops only in older people - you are mistaken. Every year, heart pathologies are "getting younger" and there are many reasons for this.

Factors for the development of coronary heart disease:

1. First, excess weight and poor nutrition. When consuming excessive amounts of fat, the level of total cholesterol and so-called low-density lipoproteins (LDL) in the blood increases, which are used to build atherosclerotic plaque (it is this trouble that clogs the coronary artery). In turn, high-density lipoproteins (HDL) decrease (this is the “good” cholesterol, it, like a good Samaritan, helps transport “bad” cholesterol to the liver and remove it from the blood).

2. Bad habits, such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.

3. A sedentary lifestyle is one of the risk factors for developing coronary heart disease. Moderate physical activity and walks in the fresh air have never hurt anyone.

4. Constant stress and emotional stress. Are your nerves going crazy? It is better to learn to calm yourself down and get your emotions in order in stressful situations than to treat heart problems later.

5. Persistently elevated blood pressure. Uncontrolled arterial hypertension is an additional burden on the heart, additional energy expenditure. In such conditions, the heart wears out much faster.

6. A hereditary factor cannot be ruled out. People in whose family there were cardiovascular diseases should more carefully monitor their lifestyle, nutrition, and working conditions.
